Green is one of the hardest colours to recreate so they look natural in your painting. This 4 hr workshop will work through blending greens, creating a colour chart of your own greens and a final workup of Ginko leaves and stems. Students should have a working knowledge of watercolour

Supplies Required by Students:

  • half sheet of 140 lb cold press watercolour paper cut in half to 10” x 15”approximately,  OR 2- sheets of 10” x 15” , 140 lb cold press from book or pad
  • scrap of cold press watercolor paper for “testing”, minimum size 8” x 10”
  • Board to mount paper on, wide masking tape
  • # 6 or #8 round brush, script liner brush
  • Pencil, white eraser, ruler, workbook/sketchbook for notes
  • 2 good sized containers for water (not plastic cups), empty sour cream/cottage cheese containers work well
  • Paper towels, soft old towel
  • Paints: Lemon Yellow, Cadmium yellow light, Sap green, Olive green, Hookers Green Dark, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue. ( Brand does not matter but Colour Name does matter for this workshop)
  • Large palette for making large mixes OR old white ceramic plate (not paper or foam plates)
  • Hand held hair dryer if you have one to assist in drying
