Call for artists!

"Shell" of a place Exhibit

The Station Arts Centre invites artists of all mediums and levels to submit work for “Shell of a Place”, a community-centred exhibition exploring the symbolism of the turtle as it relates to hometown identity, belonging, memory, and place.

Turtles carry their homes wherever they go. In many ways, so do we.

This exhibition encourages artists to interpret the connection between turtles and the places that shape us - whether through landscape, personal history, migration, protection, nostalgia, or change. Submissions may be literal or conceptual, traditional or experimental.

“Shell of a Place” opens in celebration of “Turtlefest”, inviting visitors to experience community, culture and local pride.

This will be a friendly competition!

  • $250 will be awarded to the People’s Choice Award recipient
