Summer Camp

The Station Arts Centre Summer Art/Craft Camps are vibrant, creativity-filled experiences designed to spark imagination and build confidence in young campers! Hosted inside our inspiring Gallery space, campers spend each week exploring new themes through hands-on art/craft projects, playful experiments, and creative discovery.

Led by enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors, children will explore a wide variety of materials and techniques, including painting, sculpture, collage, mixed media, and creative building. Each week introduces new ideas and artistic challenges that encourage campers to think creatively, express themselves, and develop their own unique style.

Campers are grouped by age, so activities are tailored to their developmental stage.

Each themed week brings new inspiration from wild animals and ocean adventures to famous artists, fantasy worlds, and colourful experiments. Campers will leave each day proud of their creations and excited to return for more.

Whether your child loves to paint, build, invent, or imagine, our Summer Art/Craft Camps offer a welcoming, creative space where young artists can explore, learn, and have fun!

Price: Weekly: $220 per child/per week Single Day: $45 per child/per day

Please bring a peanut free lunch, water bottle and snacks. Dress according to weather.

Why Art/craft camp?

Our Art/Craft Camps offer your children a space where they can slow down, imagine and create something entirely on their own. We pride ourselves on creating a unique space where campers can nurture their creativity, confidence and self - expression.

Through hands-on projects and guided exploration, children in our camps develop important skills such as creative problem solving, patience, focus, dexterity and decision-making. They also experience the pride of turning an idea into a finished piece of artwork that can be taken home and shared with their loved ones.

Besides our rainy day “movie time,” our Art/Craft Camps give children a screen-free environment where their own imaginations lead the way. Using a variety of mediums, campers learn that there is no single “right way” to create. This encourages independence and confidence in their ideas.

Art/Craft Camp doesn’t just need to fill the summer; it builds creativity that benefits your children in school, in problem-solving and in life.

In the email please include:

The child(s) names & ages
Registration form
The weeks/ days you'd like to sign up for (Please note full week sign ups will be prioritized)

Things to note:

Sign ups not accepted until registration opens on April 9th (excluding those with family membership using the early bird incentives)

Sign up is first come, first serve. Limited number of spaces available.
Sign up will be accepted ONLY via email at first, so we can ensure sign up is properly organised in order. After April 16th if space is available we will allow in-person and over the phone signups.

Full week sign ups prioritized over single days.

All registrations need to be completed with forms & payment within 24 hours of confirmation in Camp or spot is lost.

Craft Camp: Age 4-6

Our youngest artists focus on exploration, imagination, expressive play and sensory creativity. Through playful projects and storytelling, children build confidence while discovering the joy of making art.

Art Camp: Age 7-11

Our older artists dive deeper into artistic techniques and creative problem-solving. Projects encourage skill-building, creative thinking, and the development of personal artistic expression.

Weekly themes:

Week 1:
Wild Things Art Camp

June 29th | June 30th | July 2nd | July 3rd (No Camp July 1st)

Create wild animals, curious creatures, and imaginative habitats through colourful painting, sculpture, and playful mixed media.

Craft Camp:

Lions, frogs, butterflies, and maybe even a few imaginary creatures! Young artists will explore the animal kingdom through painting, collage, and playful crafts. Campers will slither, splatter, and create their own wild animal masterpieces while learning about colours, textures, shapes and animal habitats!

Art Camp:

Artists will explore the amazing world of animals in creative projects inspired by wildlife and imagination. Campers will design animal masks, paint bold animal portraits, sculpt creatures out of recycled materials, and build habitats for their artistic creations.

Week 2:
Ocean Wonders Studio

July 6th - July 10th

Dive into a sea of creativity as campers make shimmering jellyfish, colourful fish, and vibrant underwater worlds.

Craft Camp:

Dive into an ocean of creativity! Campers will create colourful fish, sparkling jellyfish, and magical underwater worlds using paint, collage and recycled materials. Expect lots of blues, bubbles, and ocean-inspired fun as kids explore the wonders beneath the sea!

Art Camp:

Artists will explore ocean life through creative art projects inspired by coral reefs, sea creatures and underwater environments. Campers will experiment with watercolour, mixed media, and sculpture while building their own ocean scenes

Week 3:
Cosmic Creators Camp

July 13th - July 17th

Blast off into a galaxy of imagination with glowing planets, swirling galaxies, and out-of-this-world art projects.

Craft Camp:

Blast off into space! Young artists will paint swirling galaxies, create shiny rockets, and design friendly UFOs in this imaginative week of art! Through bright colours and fun textures, campers will explore the mysteries of outer space.

Art Camp:

Campers will journey into the universe through creative space-inspired projects. From galaxy paintings to alien character design and planet sculptures, artists will experiment with colour blending, textures and imaginative storytelling.

Week 4:
Mini Masters Academy

July 20th - July 24th

Young artists explore the styles of famous artists and create their own masterpieces inspired by art history.

Craft Camp:

Little artists become mini masters! Campers will explore fun art styles inspired by famous artists and create colourful masterpieces of their own. Through playful painting, cutting and collaging, kids will discover just how exciting art can truly be!

Art Camp:

Campers will explore the styles of famous artists and experiment with techniques used by some of the world’s most celebrated creators. From bold colours to create portraits and abstract art, this week encourages young artists to develop their own style.

Week 5:
Mythical Makers Camp

July 27th - July 31st

Dragons, unicorns, and enchanted worlds come to life as campers design magical creatures and fantasy landscapes

Craft Camp:

Dragons, unicorns, and magical lands come to life! Young artists will paint enchanted castles, sculpt mythical creatures, and create colourful fantasy worlds filled with imagination.

Art Camp:

Artists will design their own fantasy worlds filled with dragons, magical creatures, and imaginative landscapes. Campers will explore drawing, painting, and sculpture while developing characters and stories through art.

Week 6:
The Great Art Experiment

August 4th - August 7th (No camp on August 3rd)

A week of creative discovery where kids experiment with surprising materials, messy techniques, and bold artistic ideas.

Craft Camp:

Get ready for messy fun! Campers will explore exciting art experiments like bubble painting, marble rolling, and splatter art. This playful week is all about discovering what happens when colours mix and creativity runs wild.

Art Camp:

Artists will experiment with unusual tools, surprising materials, and exciting art techniques. Campers will explore printmaking, texture art, and creative painting methods while discovering how experimentation leads to amazing results.

Week 7:

The Build- It Art Lab

August 10th - August 14th

Campers invent, design, and construct imaginative sculptures and creative sculptures using a variety of materials.

Craft Camp:

Let’s Build! Campers will stack, glue, paint, and create sculptures using cardboard, clay, and recycled materials. From tiny houses to silly creatures, this week is all about making three-dimensional art.

Art Camp:

Campers will design and build imaginative sculptures using a variety of materials. Projects may include cardboard architecture, creative structures, and mixed media sculptures that encourage problem-solving and inventive thinking.

Week 8:
The Colour Carnival

August 17th - August 21st

A joyful celebration where artists explore bold patterns, rainbow palettes, and expressive painting.

Craft Camp:

A joyful explosion of colour! Young artists will explore rainbows, bright patterns, and playful painting while creating bold and happy artworks.

Art Camp:

Artists will explore colour through exciting projects that focus on contrast, pattern, and bold design. Campers will experiment with colour mixing, expressive painting, and vibrant compositions.
