Class Description: Students with a love of drawing can learn the basics of drawing

using graphite pencils. Understand the types of pencils and tools used, practice

different shading techniques, learn perspective and drawing tricks that will help

develop your skill. A final drawing will also be worked on, students are encouraged to

bring an object from home to draw if they want. A short critique of works with fellow

students will done at the end of the class.

All tools will be provided, students are asked to bring their own sketchbook to work in.

Kit: students are welcome to bring their own materials (list below), or purchase a kit for

$25

Kit list: set of graphite pencils (2H, H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B), white eraser,

kneaded eraser, sketchbook, blending stump
