COVID-CREATE: Call to Artists

COVID-CREATE celebrates the creativity that has flourished during these unprecedented times.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Station Arts Centre will be presenting COVID-CREATE online, as a virtual exhibition.

Artist submissions will be accepted through email with all provided information below.

Terms of Entry

  • Open to all Southern Ontario artists working in any medium. All submitting artists must be current members of the Station Arts Centre. To purchase or renew your membership, please complete email tverbuyst@stationarts.ca or kagro@stationarts.ca 

  • Maximum of one work per artist.

  • All artwork and artist statements will be submitted through email using the below entry form. Please see below for File Requirements for Submissions.

  • The SAC reserves the right to refuse any artworks due to questions of copyright, ownership and/or authorship.

  • All works must have been completed preferably within the last 3 months but must be within the last 18 months, are wholly original and have been created by the submitting artist.

  • Please be as specific as possible when listing the medium of the entry.

  • No entry may be withdrawn after the virtual exhibition is launched on June 26th, 2020. The exhibition will remain on the SAC’s website indefinitely.

  • If work is inquired about for purchase during the exhibit timeframe, the SAC will collect commission on any sales that may have resulted from the exhibition and will arrange for collection of artwork with the artist. 

  • By entering the exhibition, artists grant the SAC the right to use images of artwork(s) for the virtual exhibition, publicity, advertising, educational reference, and social media.

  • Registration forms and artwork must be submitted online by June 19th, 2020 at midnight to be considered for the exhibition. No late entries will be accepted. 

File Requirements for Submissions

  • Images should be well lit, clear and as high quality as possible. The images submitted during registration will be used in the virtual exhibition. Images deemed low quality will not be accepted.

  • Each entry may be represented by up to 3 different views, for a total number of 6 files per artist. We recommend multiple views be submitted for 3D works.

  • For each artwork submitted, please provide a 100 word artist statement. The SAC reserves the right to edit these statements for length or clarity.

  • Files must be labelled: “Artist’s Last Name_Title of Work” (ex. Smith_MyArtwork). Add a number to the file name if you are submitting multiple images (ex. Smith_MyArtwork_1).

  • Images should be submitted as JPG, JPEG files only. Artist statements should be submitted as DOC or DOCX files only. The registration form will not accept PDF files.

  • Please send images that are between 1500 and 2500 pixels for best representation of your work for the website.

The Station Arts Centre is a charitable organization with a mission to promote the arts within Tillsonburg and area. We are a local historical site that provides visitor information, art galleries, art programming, a variety of in house groups, artisan gift shop, pottery studio & Saturday Farmer’s Market.
